We know a lot of you are big fans of the iriver clix, which we thought had one of the best UI designs we have seen on a DAP. Well, we just got word from iriver that what was previously known as the clix2, and will now be known as the iriver clix gen 2, is now available for purchase in the USA. This one sports a fantastic 2.2-inch 260,000 color AMOLED screen, adds support for 30fps video in Windows Media 9 and MPEG-4, and still has Flash Lite support. The battery lasts a whopping 24 hours (with the display off) for audio, and 5 hours for video (at 15fps.) You can order one today from the iriver America store, or wait a week or so to pick one up from another retailer. The 2GB version sells for $149, 4GB at $199. If that isn’t enough, wait till June and grab the 8GB model for $249 USD.

Keyboard Boxer Underpants

These boxers have no USB or PS/2 port, and you can’t actually type anything with them. (That doesn’t mean you can’t ask your girlfriend to try.) There’s a section on the keyboard that spells “Computer Geek,” which if you’re caught wearing these will be self-explanatory.

Philips & Swarovski Flash Drives

By Good MooD | April 13, 2007

If you are looking for a USB drive that has more bling bling than a simple black or silver flash drive can deliver Philips & Swarovski are building a flash drive just for you. Actually they are putting together four drives just for you. Starting with the Lockin (which naturally looks like a lock), Heart Ware (a heart shape surprise, surprise), Happy Heart (another heart), and Lock Out (another lock). Most interesting of all is the fact that the cap of the Heart Ware obviously costs a lot more than the the other half - one that holds the data. Furtherer proving that the drives are more to look at than to use there is no information available about the storage capacity or speed of the flash drives. If the blinged out design catches your eye, the price may catch your breath at slightly over $200 per drive. The drives will be sold at Swarovski distributors and come in a jewel box.

Sofa + Hammock

By Good MooD | April 13, 2007

hammock_sofa.jpg

Over the years there have been some great combinations like chocolate & peanut butter, Mork & Mindy, nacho & cheese or even Cop Rock & canceled but this one easily tops them all. Take two of the most comfortable places to nap and/or relax and then mash them together and what you’re left with is this combination sofa & hammock. My mind is still reeling when I try to comprehend what it might be like to kick back in this thing. I suspect one would instantly fall into a state of perpetual relaxation and apathy.

Unfortunately though except for that photo not much else is known about the sofa hammock like price or availability. It was originally found at a German website called Bless-Service but like a lot of design-oriented sites, usability and navigation takes a back seat so be forewarned.

Sony- 3mm very Thin OLED Displays

By Good MooD | April 13, 2007

lcd-3-mm.jpg

We’re used to seeing OLED screens in small-ish electronics. But the technology is moving forward by leaps and bounds, and displays getting ever larger. The nice thing about OLED displays is that they don’t have to be quite as thick as their LCD or plasma counterparts. As a matter of fact, Sony’s been caught showing off these gorgeous screens at the Display Expo 2007. While they were announced as far back as CES, it’s nice to see real life pictures of them. The picture you see up there is of the 3mm thin display, which has a maximum resolution of 1024×600.

The other nice thing about OLED is that you can achieve some incredible specs, like a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. Yeah, we counted those zeroes, and we do mean a million-to-one. Want to see a picture of a 1,000,000:1 full-HD (1080p, or 1,920×1,080 ), 9mm thin OLED display? A few more details? Keep reading.
